Zabarmari Killings: Atiku Foundation DG In Community To Condole Families On Behalf Of Principal

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dispatched the leadership of his humanitarian organisation, the Atiku Care Foundation to condole the people of Zabarmari over the November 28 murder of 78 indigenous rice farmers.

Director-General of the organisation, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas who led other top hierarchy of the ACF to Borno State stated that the visit at the instance of the Grand Patron became necessary to share in the pains of families of the fallen compatriots and the Zabarmari community.

His words: “The Waziri Adamawa is currently out of town but he has asked us to convey most deeply, his sympathy, over the needless and inhuman killings of our fellow citizens whose lives were terminated in their bid to add value to their families and nation’s economy.

“We express the solidarity of His Excellency, the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar with the Zabarmari and Borno State Government over the wicked attacks on this peace-loving and enterprising community which led to many lives being cut short at their prime. We ask God to grant the souls of our dear departed eternal rest and give succour to the bereaved families and community to bear the painful losses.

Abbas, described the losses as a momentum, not only to Borno state or Nigeria but a great loss to humanity at large.

In his immediate response to the cold-blooded killings, the former Vice President had taken to his verified Twitter account to condemn the dastardly murders and charged the Federal Government to rejig the security architecture to forestall future reoccurrence.

“The lives of our citizens should be worth much more than this. The rejig of the nation’s security architecture is long overdue. May their souls rest in peace and may their families be comforted,” the Waziri Adamawa had urged.

The delegation was received on Monday in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital by the Northeast Director of the Atiku Care Foundation, Hon. Ibrahim Ali Amsami before heading to the affected community on Tuesday.

Abbas was accompanied on the visit by the Sokoto State Director of the ACF, Comrade Bello Muazu and  North-East Director, Contact and Mobilisation, Comr. Abdulhamid A Yanga.

The delegation was received in Zabarmari deceased by the President of Concerned  Citizens of Jere, Mr. Haruna Audu alongside families before which prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of departed souls and for God to grant the loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
